At the South Open-Pit Mine in northwest China, EACON Mining Technology launched a large-scale deployment of its Autonomous Haulage Solution (AHS) beginning in November 2020. At the time, this marked the world's largest autonomous mining fleet with over 200 autonomous trucks in operation. The mine now leads the way in intelligent mining, integrating 5G, Big Data, and AI to enable safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable operations. It is the first open-pit coal mine in China to achieve 24/7 autonomous operation for both coal and overburden haulage, and the first to support mixed-traffic autonomous operation in coal mining. The site has also maintained safe operations for over 1600 consecutive days, demonstrating the reliability and maturity of EACON’s solution at scale. There are now over 200 autonomous trucks in operation at the South Open-Pit Mine in northwest China.
