Zijinshan Copper-Gold Mine
Location: Southeast China
Commodity: Gold, copper
Solution: Factory-fit battery-electric vehicles developed by XCMG
Client: Zijin Mining
In June 2024, EACON Mining secured a commercial order to deploy its Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) at the Zijinshan Copper-Gold Mine, China’s largest gold mine. This milestone followed a successful proof-of-concept trial completed earlier that year and marked a demonstration of EACON’s OEM-agnostic capabilities through the deployment of three battery-electric XCMG EX80 trucks. In the first phase, EACON integrated its full AHS suite and collaborated with XCMG to customise the EX80 platform for autonomous operation, supporting the mine’s shift toward cleaner and more efficient haulage. The project addresses complex site conditions including frequent rain and fog, uphill loaded hauling, narrow-area navigation, and mixed traffic scenarios, and achieves centimetre-level dumping accuracy at ore passes, highlighting the system’s precision and adaptability.
